My DT400 head has that same "plug" in the head, I figured I could have a machine shop do it for me.
RT325, I have a compression release on my DT2 and use it all the time for coming to a stop and use my brakes very little unless someone is behind me then I put light pressure on the front brake to turn on my brake light. The Enduros I had back in the day, 175 and 400 both had them, I like them no matter what some people may say about them - to each his own

And when I start the 400, I like to spin it a few times before turning it on.
With the release, it would spin easier and faster for that procedure.

Thank you Dan, she's running good, starts first kick every time - well unless I forget to turn the fuel spigot off

I do have a little more tuning to do on the carb I think but it's really close.

Sounds nice & crisp & a willing revver now. I had to play it back a few time to see what was going on thinking ya hitting a kill switch--but a decomp in the head--ok--ya might've started a trend there!!.

Thanks Morley, she is running really well now thanks to your help! Love the decomp, just don't understand why some look down on them but as I said to each his own...

I am looking at MIKUNI VM 28 49 carbs on ebay. .My question is, does the vm 28/49 carbs have different intake and air filter side diameters available? The only ones I see have intake side OD 37mm, my carb off my 250 is 35mm.And air filter side 50mm OD while my 250 carb is 42mm OD or so. It seems the boot and intake holder would clamp down to those smaller diameters. Will these ebay mikuni vm28/49 carbs mount ok to my 250?
