DT400B Twin Shock - trip reset knob was created by Jammyyammy

Hi, Is there a knack to the trip reset knob? I don’t want to force something and break it.
I’ve pulled it out and twisted it, but which ever way I twist it, it counts up/down the miles, literally one mile at a time. I was hoping it would be a bit quicker than that…
Is mine knackered or is that just the way it works?

I had to turn mine back a mile at a time however I’ve now lost the plastic knob so it’s not being zeroed anymore.
