DT400B Twin Shock - neutral light query was created by Jammyyammy

Hi all,
My (American import) DT400 twin shock doesn’t have a neutral light. Am I dreaming, or do some DT400 twin shocks have a neutral light? If so, I presume it was the later ones that had a neutral light or was it the European ones had a neutral light?
I don’t suppose a retrofit is possible to mine?

No they don't have a neutral light. there is not even a neutral light switch on the engine case.

Selector drum is at the base of the motor not like the smaller motors with it at the top & easy to design in. They probably thought if we put one under the motor its going to give grief, leak, get knocked off.

When Yamaha started the monoshock version of the DT400 in 77 it got a neutral light and oil tank low level light.
