Piston was created by Robabob

Good afternoon

I am looking for a standard piston kit for a 1974 dt125a with not much luck, I ordered 1 from a w motorcycles but the piston is slightly longer, Any where else I find is out of stock. I am based in the UK so pref one that is already in the UK but not against have one imported if it is right. I was also wondering if the was other models that used the same piston

Thanks

Rob

I'm no help sorry but what you likely ended up with is one from am RX125 if flat topped or an RS125 if dome topped. They're quite a bit taller & the cylinder is about one fin taller.

Try this number. i can't get the link to work [just me i think]. Go to the pic showing height measurements & this one shows 27mm to the top. The RS piston was 32.5mm measured the same way i think!! This is a Std 56mm DT125MX piston kit but i;m guessing its similar enough. MX isn't a motocross bike in this case.

CMSNL have pistons in stock, but not all piston rings.

If you do buy from them, check to see if there is anything else that you need, so that you get max value out of postage cost.

Enduronut on this site might be able to supply what you need, but postage from the US might be higher.

Thank you for your reply. The measurements on that piston match the piston I have that doesn't fit. my piston has a slightly domed top and measure 22mm from the top edge to the edge of the pin hole and is about 63mm from top to bottom and would be a bit taller inc the dome. My original piston is on  the right in the attached pictures.

Thanks

Not a kit, but these guys appear to have the piston.

Never dealt with them, so not sure what they are like.
There are a couple of UK ebay sellers with the 444-11610-00 rings too.

Yamaha CT1-B The Greenie
Yamaha CT1-B The Doppelgänger
Yamaha CT1-C
