My first thought is how can I talk you out of it? What Vintage MX bike would be able to take it's place? I think they use a lot of ITs in these races, no?

Sorry, you still came to the right place. I so miss my DT360 and the thought of another one of the remaining being stripped down makes me want one all the more. I still have the tank from it. Crashed into the side of a car in 1981.

Here's mine. I go against the grain on a lot of things. Mainly because I try and keep my cost to a minimum but still have fun with the old vintage Yamaha's.

Pump will survive if you cap it where the tank line enters. Then remove any shims under the plate that moves up & down [in & out then]. Remove cable & fit a stronger carb slide spring. & off ya go. Could remove the pump though if you wanted to pull the clutch cover off to blank things off. Reading again i see you say oil pump tank, or do you mean pump & tank?. Good bike the old 360A but not much ground clearance unless you jack it up a bit. I have an RT2 style vmx'er with more clearance on that model. 360A is a stronger motor & totally re-designed for "74. Look forward to pics sometime. What country are you in?. Cheers & welcome from NZ.

yes that’s the look i’m going for, won’t be cutting or destroying anything, it could all go back on later if someone chooses. i just will only be racing it at Mid Ohio national hare scrambles, might motocross for fun. yes an old Yamaha IT would be great , i used to race one back in the day. but my dads last dirt bike was this same model , plus i kinda wanted in the class that is basically 74 and older.   curious what tear fender did you use .

Both fenders are universal fit and they were made by BOSS enduro back in the same era as the bike. You will find them with various logos because they were sold by various distributors. The narrow front fenders are easier to find than the wide rear fenders. There is a used and somewhat abused rear fender on eBay right now, along with several front fenders of various colors. This is the exact same one I have for the rear. It is not an RT1 fender.... it was probably removed from an RT1.

Not sure if these pegs will fit, but it looks like what you wanted.

I completely removed the oil tank and the oil pump. I made a plate to cap off the oil pump mounting using a new gasket on the homemade cap. I simply made a cap out of 1/8 aluminum and made it the same shape as the gasket. Drilled two holes and done. It looks just like the block off plates you can buy on eBay for around $20 dollars, except it was free!
