So I got tired of searching around and didn't want to spend $100 on a NOS cable.

So I made the logical decision (not!) and just bought all the tools to build my own cables. Solder pot, bird caging tool, nice Felco cable cutters, and a universal cable kit from Revival Cycles. Also a new tub of flux and 63/37 solder

I don't know why I am the way I am....haha

I've used motionpro and Venhill to have custom cables made before but I'm just sick of the wait time and price. MP would charge 140 to make one and Venhill would be 75. So doing it this way will pay for itself after like....4 more cables

Cable building is not that hard.

I am the same way!  I am always willing to learn how to do something rather than pay someone to do what I could do. The more you know.......

You sure 'bout that, PYLE?
ASSEMBLIES WHERE 363-26335-03-00 IS USED

I would respectfully suggest that the Parts Fish (and Partzilla as well!

) lists are wrong.

In the Parts Fish/Partzilla info, compare the schematic number of the cable (27) in the exploded diagram with what is described in the parts list for this and you will get an idea of what I mean.

I have an original paperback parts manual and this agrees with the info on the CMSNL website - ie that the correct part number is 438-26335. If I can, I will scan the relevant page of my manual and post here. Edit - now attached (Euro version same as US in this regard).

This dodgy info on Parts Fish and Partzilla probably explains why cables that are advertised as fitting the 1974 'A' models don't and folks then post on this forum asking for help.

My own DT360A, which I bought as someone else's abandoned project, came with a brand new clutch cable. It had been routed incorrectly and fitted and worked ok in that situation. However, when I tried to route it correctly, it transpired that it was too short, so it was probably one of the ones that was advertised as fitting many models. I bought a correct, genuine one and it fitted fine.

I might be blind but when I looked through the "Parts Fish" page link for the DT250A, it doesn't seem the parts descriptions match the diagram  Clutch cable is marked #33 and I can't even find a #33.  Same with Partzilla.  Definitely seems to be a Yamaha documentation issue with that page.

Silly thoughts day at my place. Is there a automatic clutch that would fit the hub & basket. Like what modern motocross or enduro bikes use. Not clutch cable needed--i think.
Ok, went looking & found this. Far to complicated for me lol.
