Straight wiring DT250 was created by Solid Lifters

I bought a DT250 several weeks ago and it ran fine before putting it on the truck to bring it home.  The carb was flooding so I ordered a kit and put it back on today.  I tried to crank it and it has no fire.  It's been inside since I bought it, but the interstate was like a washboard on part of the trip.  To eliminate the ignition switch, engine kill switch on handlebars and anything else in the harness  I want to put a temp wire from the harness from the mag straight to the coil like the older MX bikes with points were wired but don't know what color wire in the harness to connect.  I figure if I jump it and it still doesn't have fire it's down to the points/condenser or the coil itself.  (I grounded a NEW plug with a jump wire to a clean spot on the frame just to be sure)

Connect black/white (sometimes it's solid black) from stator to coil.
