Hi, anybody know what torque the nuts should be where the exhaust bolts onto the cylinder block?

See page 142 in the service manual section for that year bike. Torque specifications are by fastener size. I think a 13MM fastener was 15 ft lbs but probably best for you to verify.

Use a new gasket and snug them up until they feel tight...taking into consideration their size. I like that you want to use correct torque. I'm the same way. However, on non-critical parts like that I wing it a little as manuals likely don't call out that connection. Just tighten it until it breaks then back it off a little LOL.
