12v Bulbs for dt400c was created by Chuckufarley
Hey guys, I've searched around but couldn't find any specifics.
does anyone know offhand, or point me towards a source, what bulbs I need for the tail light, and gauges.
. I'm doing a 12v conversion kit from Rex's, and have the other bulbs, but not sure what works for the indicator lights in the gauges, or the tail light.
Any help would be great.
Thanks

I converted my DT360 to 12volt. I took one of the gauge bulbs to Napa. They telephoned their bulb representative and he said their current 6V bulbs like ours are rated up to 14V. I haven't hooked up my gauges yet but he seemed confident there wouldn't be a problem. At $1.43 each I'm willing to take the chance. The 12V taillight/brakelight is an easy match.

Ok thank you, I'll probably just try running the gauge lights as they are.
Seems like an 1157, or a 2057 bulb should work for the tail/brake light. At least the bases are the same, and the watt ratings are close.

1157 in tail works fine
You can use the 74-76 DT125 (USA 12v electric start version) bulbs in the gauges. Or there are several threads on here that list the aftermarket bulb numbers. By me, O'Reillys had them out on the floor, just took old bulb to match up. NAPA is always a good choice but not buying the claim that the 6v bulbs will work okay. 12v systems run in the 14 to 15 volt range.

Rex can supply the bulbs too, I converted mine and had the full kit with no issues.
