Is there any chance that Yamaha made a red 1974 Dt360? The paint on this thing looks too good!

Not in the US, but possible other places though they normally would be called a "Trail" and not an "Enduro".

More likely someone painted the bike their color of choice.  Heck, I've known people who have had brand new cars repainted by the dealer to their favorite color.

I'm in agreement with Mark .
That particular tank striping decal , was only used in the US market .
In some instances colour options were available in different markets , however the DT 360
only seemed to be available in Geneva Green in all markets .

Well, everyday's a school day!

Just checked my European parts list for the 1974 250 and 360 'A' models and discovered that the 250 was available in "Blue Dust" and "Virginia Gold" and the 360 in "Yamaha Black" only.

To confirm what Mark said, "Yamaha Trail" is shown on the side decals.

Your red does look like an aftermarket colour to me but, after what I've just said, who knows?!

Thanks Devin.

Interesting that my parts book doesn't show the brown option.

My parts book shows the European model as having the low front fender and strap on the (longer?) seat, as fitted to the bike in these photos.

I guess the VIN number will highlight where a bike was originally sold.

All the brochures from the markets that I've seen , have the headlight shell
and brackets painted silver , rather than the tank colour .
This also suggests , to me at least , that this is a repaint .
