360 Enduro Identification was created by efunk28

I just picked up what I think is a 1974 360 enduro that needs restoration. Before I can begin, I need to determine what year and model it is so I can buy parts for it. The serial number is 446-017446. I really can't read the badge as it's painted. Is there another way to tell the year and model?

There's a VIN Chart available by clicking the TECH LIBRARY link at the top of this page.

Your VIN makes your bike a 1974 Yamaha DT360.

Thanks for the information, it's greatly appreciated. The first on my list is a rotor. I think I found one similiar on ebay but not sure if it's compatible. It's off a Yamaha 360 RT3 ENDURO Engine Alternator Flywheel Rotor 1973 YB263 SE. Do you know if this will work on my bike?

I have a complete ignition from a 1974 DT360, I do not know the condition as it came with some other parts that I bought for that bike. Like I said not sure on the stator or CDI, but not a whole lot can go wrong on a rotor, as long as the magnets and rivets are in good shape, if interested PM me and I can send you some pictures.

Highly unlikely. Amongst many other differences, 1973 RT3 has points, whereas the 1974 DT360A has CDI.

Gr8uncleal's right. From what I found, the DT360A rotor was unique to that bike. Some of the other ignition parts were used on other bikes. A real easy way to check is to search the parts on partzilla or cmsnl as they list all models the part was used on. There's some after market ignition kits for this bike too. I've been looking for ignition parts for my DT360 too. Welcome to the site and good luck with your bike.
