Hello, kind of new here. Just finishing up rebuilding a '75 DT125. Got it running like a champ, except it is not charging. It has the 12v system w/electric start, and the elctric start works. I have checked and tested everything from the manuals and can't find any issues or shorts, yet it still won't charge. My question is, is there a recommended electric ignition (such as vape, etc) that works on this bike? I know it would eliminate the electric start, but I guess I'm ok with that. Everything I've found online states it's for a DT125 without electric start, and I think it is smaller. Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated. Thank You.

Does it have that regulator/rectifier jobbie, like the RD200? If yes, you could try dismantling it and see if the points are dirty.

It does, but I have tried 2 regulators with the same results.
