Hi - does anyone know the exact size of the 'o' ring for a 1975 DT400B (USA model) decompression valve. There doesn't seem to be any OEM available in the UK (93210-05215-00) and it sems ridiculous to ship one from the states, cost and time..., when, if I know the dimensions, I could get one from ebay for next to nothing in a day or so. I could measure up the old one and the valve etc etc and best guess / fudge something, but if anyone knows the correct dimensions (inner diameter and cross section), then that would be much better............ Thanking you in advance..............

My parts book gives dimensions of 3.5-5.2  .
I would presume it would need to be of Viton material
owing to heat issues .
Hope that helps .

In another thread, someone posted this as being available from Harbor Freight. Must be something like it in your area?

Hi Jammy, did you get anywhere with the o ring issue?  I agree with the other guys ref the parts book, but can't see how 3.5 is supposed to fit as a gauge....I tried a 5mm x 2mm but it was too fat. The 4x1 that I had did fit but I think the correct diameter is 5 (or 5.2).  Or, is it a wierd oblong shape that is 3.5 long? The slot it goes in may suggest just that. Dunno. There is an o ring place near me that can make up some, if only we know what to make!

I have both the small and large decompression o-ring. $3.80 ($6 on eBay)
They will mail in a letter envelope.
1 ounce postage to the UK is $1.20
You could put a lot of them in an envelope and not exceed 1 ounce

Hi Biggles,
I bought my o-ring from Deet. I also bought a spring, nut and large washer for the decompression valve from him. All fitted now...
The o-ring is a regular circular cross section - it isn’t square/rectangular/etc...
I didn’t measure it before I fitted it. Sorry...
