Just ordered a 12 volt VAPE conversion kit, DT400C, need headlight suggestions!? was created by AirborneSilva

Hey guys, I just ordered a Vape 12 volt conversion kit and am excited to finally be able to get my DT400 on the road, also ordered from Rex's a kit that has the horn and lights but no headlight so I'm looking for suggestions for a good light that will work well with the new setup. Thanks, Tony

if you have a 180 watt system, I would look for a 60 or 65 watt H4 bulb. here is a 35/35 watt unit here.

65/55 watt bulb here.

Thank you Bigdog! It is a 180 watt system, I'd never had thought to look at Halogen so I'm glad I asked and didn't just get a sealed beam bulb.

The link that Bigdog listed I think is for a right hand drive option , which will focus the beam
to the left . Fine for those of us who drive on the left side of the road , not so much for you
Americans . There were numerous other options also available including a left hand drive
option , which likely suits your needs better .

With an H-4 housing, you also have the option of going with LED bulbs which are a whiter lite with less electrical draw. If you go that route, make sure to compare the lumen output. There are a lot which are dimmer than the 6 volt stock. I have had good luck with the Auxbeam brand in several automotive applications.

Thanks Mako, I ordered the Halogen bulb, maybe next time I'll go with the LED.

Swoop, I see that he also sells the RHD light so I sent an e-mail to him asking to change my order. Thanks again for the heads up, that really never crossed my mind!

As I live in a right hand drive country , it's a problem I'm more aware of .
Many of the recommended lamp units here , don't really work for my needs .
I have put the one that Bigdog linked onto my own watchlist , for a future purchase myself .
The devil's in the detail , as they say .
