DT125 Rear Shock is bent was created by Khudaverdyan
Hey everyone! I have a 1975 dt125 that I'm working on with my girlfriend and one of the rear shocks is bent. I'm fairly new to this and have never dealt with shocks before. Here's a pic of it fully extended. Is there any way to rebuild this? What do you guys think

from the UK.
I'd replace the shock. Your budget will probably determine whether you go for new or used and pair or single.
If the bike has been standing for years, change the front and rear brake shoes.

The reason, why it's bent, usually are the complete rusty inside parts. Water went inside, while oil got lost. The piston could not move anymore while riding, so it bends.
If you buy a used one take care you realise oil inside, when you shake it. This is a sign for intact shock inner parts.

Thanks everyone! I'll probably look for a used one. The other shock seems to be in good shape. It was a barn find and had been sitting for years. Appreciate the advice and knowledge!
