I found a solution for my DT360 throttle cable too long, may not be perfect but it worked. I had Venhill universal throttle cable kit and found a piece you would use to make a cable. Below is the picture, the spacing made it perfect. Now the carburetor cable is the correct length to operate the oil pump.

Gracias gents. This clears up a number of questions I had.

Tangent question (if this is allowed, if not, I'll search elsewhere) - I'd like to do a similar carb swap on my 73' 250. It has the bolt-on carb currently. What intake manifold suits this carb that may line up with the D3 bolt pattern?

BTW I am new here to this site. Holy smokes what a treasure trove of fun information. I love it!

Really good thread here guys, appreciate all the info. The Keihin carb looks a lot like the OKO carb I purchased for a TY250 (my thread is on here somewhere in the TY section). That seems to be running quite well so far.

May I ask where you obtained the carb, and bits? I got the TY setup from the Atlantic trials guys.

I figured it was worth updating this thread to mention that the non-notched slides work better in this application.  Both of the PWK35 slides I had were factory notched.  Both have been difficult to get to run as cleanly as I would like so I tried modifying both of them in different ways.  I found one recently without a notch and tried it out just for kicks.

The biggest difference is the improved idle characteristics.  Runs a more consistent speed from cold up to operating temp.  Allows a lower idle setting without stalling.  I was also able to lean out the needle clip position which has improved mid throttle fueling.  On a 250 or smaller you may benefit from the notch, I ran a notched slide on my piston port 250 with excellent results.  The PWK I set up for one of my 125 builds ran a notch as well.  I think the 360 draws strongly enough on the carb that the notch is not necessary or beneficial.

Would it be possible for you to please show pictures of the notched and un-notched slides?  I am not sure what you mean by a notch.
Thank you!

Right in the center of the slide.

Keihin sells both versions.  My KX250 uses a notch, my bud's RM250 does not.  KX500 does not.
