Piston DT250: Is this still usable? was created by david.martin

Hi all
So I was pulling the engine apart on my DT250 and by accident the piston hit the case and knocked a chunk out of the casting. Is it still usable or should it now head to the bin?

Ouch!

I wouldn't trust it because it might come apart further and do serious damage.

Beyond that, it's broken out high enough that when piston is at/near TDC the exhaust port will be open to the crankcase. Not good for a lot of reasons.

Hi, i would frame it & hang it on the wall with sign saying wasn't me!!. I have a few like that lol caused by my blowups.
Like to see more pics all around though as looks very short but might be just the angle of the photo. Is it a piston port DT1 or is there reed holes on the far side.
