Oversize piston set for dt400

Oversize piston set for dt400 was created by RobertE

Does anybody know if there is an 87mm piston kit made for a 75 dt400? Stock is 85mm and all I've been able to find so far are 85.5, 86.0, and 86.5. 87mm would be 4th overbore.

Check with Enduronut, he probably has one.

The pistons go + .25mm 1st over. so 86mm is 4th over. You can see this on the partzilla parts list

That is for Yamaha

Wiseco goes .50mm per over so their 3rd over is 86.5mm
That is the largest they list for a 1976 DT400

They are hard to find and probably not made anymore. Enduronut recently posted that he had at least one...

I have a Wiseco 87mm piston kit. I'll go look and make sure that it's the size I think it is and get back later. I have a hogged-out jug as well,just needs bored.

I found the jug and head,I think from a 400 mx,but couldn't find the piston. I am an old fart and tired from rebuilding my '41 Ford tractor,but will look tomorrow when I'm not worn out.

I can relate to the old fart and working on old iron. Any help would be appreciated. My other alternative is to go with the light pitting in the cylinder and hope.

I found it. It's a 87mm Wiseco with rings and pin retainers,but no pin. I gave $115.00 for it and will sell it for that. It is new old stock 400 MX '75-'78 models. I have a MX jug and head to match,just needs final honing/boring.
