While I do agree that you have found a brochure with an unpainted carb, every new unaltered 73-76 enduro that I saw in real life was painted black.
So my vote is: paint it black!

Just another vote for black....Also have a 76 USA DT400C and the owner's manual clearly shows many pics of the black carb. I also pain stakingly paid close attention to stock factory details on my resto. Go for the black....Good luck!!
