1976 DT 250 Crankshaft shim or no shim what side?

I thought I would try one more time on a new post.
The service manual says the left side should have a shim, however, no part is listed on the parts diagram. I have also read a few conflicting post that a shim should go ride side primary gear side?
thoughts?

The correct size shim goes on the primary gear side.
