The US spec doesn't look too bad but the Euro version is awful:

Don’t mean to be nosy, but are you a plastic surgeon by any chance? “Does this make my bum look big?” “We’ll fix you right up there.”
This was my solution.
Nice work, by the way.

You'd have to offer a lot of money I've saved two [rusting] original fuel tanks, an original [also rusting] seat pan, various other bits and, along with the OEM lamp, they'll get crated up to go to the next owner... if that ever happens The wife doesn't like that I have two bikes for some reason. Women, eh? So I'm not sure how long I can hold onto the DT :(
In the meantime the old tin number plate is huge! I've ordered up a vintage black & silver one to finish the job.
If you're interested in a similar conversion the replacement assembly is basically billed as an IT175 trials lamp (although it has a dual filament, night and brake bulb. AFAIK you need a rear "daylight running" light for trials, in fog and the like.)
For example:
yambits.co.uk/it175-trail-tail-light-unit-p-55150.html
and some drilling, cable re-routing, etc. Rubber bung over the old cable hole is the cherry on top

Hi, I couldn't work out which side of the pond you were on, but if on the European side (U.K.) and were thinking of selling the original rear light bracket and the fitting that bolts to the mudguard, I'd be really interested.
