‘76 DT175 Piston Confusion was created by BWMoto
Hey guys,
I’m a long time reader and wrencher, but it’s my first time posting....
I recently purchased a cheap dt175 and had hopes of making it a fun project. I tore the motor down for paint and clean up. Decided to put a fresh set of rings in while I was there...
I purchased NOS piston rings, but it turns out they aren’t even close to fitting the piston that was in the bike. Any idea what this piston is and where I can find rings for it?
Thanks for the help!

That piston is an aftermarket Wiseco piston . The code 471 P2 is it's catalogue number .
I don't have a Wiseco catalogue so cant help with rings numbers .
They are numbered in imperial nominal bore size . They are readily available .

I've had a bit more time over lunch to research this now .
The ring set you need is Wiseco 2618 CD . There is a set on ebay
Auction # 292891378499 . There may be others too , I didn't look further .
Good Luck
