So today is a cold overcast day in Chicago area and is a good day to work on my DT250A teardown. I am well along and see the engine dampers are quote old and cracked. I was able to get one of the two out but it seems there must be a better way than pounding and beating it out. I used heat, Kroil, chisel, homemade puller etc. Is there a way you guys get these older dampers out? Once its out I have to get a new one in without ruining it as well.. Any suggestions would be very helpful.

Here's the bad one I was able to remove

and my home made case splitter with Harbor Freight Puller remover..(yes its crude)

I've done several like that by using a scroll saw with a metal cutting blade. Unhook the blade from the handle/frame, insert the blade through the hole, attach the blade to the handle and cut slowly through the bushing. It will pop out easy.

I am in Geneva. If you want to bring it down here I can turn a piece to drive it out with a press and make a install tool for installing the new one if you have it.

Can you actually get the new bushings? Where did/do you obtain?

partzilla indicated they have them in stock for $20 each, I thought I would cannibalize some from another case I have if I got desperate.
