DT250A Clutch Wear was created by Camp3

Take a look at the attached pics. As I am breaking down my DT250A motor for my winter project refurb, I find the clutch has some moderate wear. Do I need to remove the small "ridges" with a file? The clutch is made of aluminum so it would be easy to file these smooth(er). I just don't want to do something to mess up my part that may not even be needed. Is there a technique? or just file it down a bit until its smooth.

You can smooth those ridges out with a stone or file but honestly it doesn't look bad. From the looks of it I'd probably leave it as is.

Service manual covers this topic... wide flat file works best. You want to try to keep file square to edge and don't round, bevel, or angle the edge. It's not that hard to do if you choose to. And yours is not that bad.
