How do I remove the chrome ring from the bulb? It looks like there are wire/spring clips that need to come off, but I don’t want to pry or anything that might damage it.

Yes, those 3 wire "W" clips are meant to come off, then the 2 screws.
They can fly off, so 1) wear eye protectors and 2) be prepared for a search around your workshop! I reckon I've got one in the roof space of my garage somewhere!
Have fun!

Well, I got the light out of the ring. I only had one of those little springs go flying, it caught me in the neck, but I survived. (I did wear safety glasses, glad I did)
It turns out the h4 conversion is too big for the ring. Not the diameter, but the depth/angle of the backside. It might work if I hacked up the angle adjuster, but the piece is in too good of shape for that.
I ordered a standard sealed beam, and maybe I’ll be on the lookout for a ring that’s already in rough shape to MacGuyver a solution.

From where and what sealed beam # did you order?

It was some cheapo thing on Amazon...it didn't fit. I'm not sure why I thought it would, but it was late at night and I didn't read the description well enough.
What are other people using? I'm really struggling with this one.

Is the bike a DT250B, as per the wiring diagram in the background of the first photo?
