Fork oil capacity - DT175 1978 was created by MikeK-uk
Happy Easter all,
My DT175 is a mx registered in 1979 with mono shock round section swing arm. Here registration date does not have to be the same as manufacturing date.
It is a 2K4 model code.
Can anyone confirm that makes my bike is an F model with186cc per leg?
I rather thought it was an E (146cc), but can’t for the life of me remember why I thought that.
Many thanks!
Mike

What are the first 3 numbers after 2K4-? It looks like 1978 and 1979 (2X2) bikes had VIN starting 2K4, but the following numbers should pin down which year/model.

UK bikes and US bikes are different in that the US got leading axle forks in 1979 and I'm not sure the UK got the leading axle until much later, if at all.
Unless you have leading axle forks, I'd use the 1978 US spec.

On the model list I have, that shows as a 1978 model. 1979 started 2K4-010...

Thanks so much for checking for me.
146cc it is, and very useful to know for future too.
Thank you.
