DT175 1978 - splitting crank cases was created by MikeK-uk

Hi all,
I am splitting the crankcases (or trying to!) but the rear engine mount with the damper seems seized and is preventing the split. How do i get the damper and spacer out?! Thanks!

More likely the dowel #3 rusted in. Get brave & give the output shaft a good tap. If there's any sort of a gap get some penetrating oil down there but its stuck each way where i guess the oil won't easily get.

Might even help to smack the mount good & hard seeing its bonded rubber but the steel center bit will push the long spacer against the other end bonded center so might just bounce back n forth but anything's with a try & can't do any harm. All screws out--had to ask sorry.

Crank will be tight on the bearing that side, not directly related to the problem, but other side case virtually slides of the crank as is a slide fit held by the crank nut. So i'm going the long winded way to say if everything on the right is removed then could tap the crank--main shaft--output shaft & get it to move the other way. Things like selector drum end needs to be off & lever shaft out, maybe more. Not helping the stuck thingy though am i sorry. There's dowel #4 at the front too, but the big rear one mostly gets stuck.

Thanks guys - support and knowledge on this site is the BEST.
Slept on it and it hasn’t split itself overnight!
The cases are gapped all the away around… with a tiny gap at that upper rear mount. So that and my visual check/rechecks convince me all screws out.
Drum is removed.
Been squirting plusgas into the gap and mount.
And will them give the output shaft a tap.
We will see…
Thanks all.

Put nut on output shaft, gave it a few good hard tap…
Success - thank you!
