Found a guy with an 1981 IT425 engine and was wondering if it will fit into a a DT1 frame?

Short answer 'NO'. Engine design for just about all enduros & trail bikes changed in "74 & grew longer & lots of other differences--including mounts. sorry about that chief. sounds like you have, or had--a plan?. 360 of course up to "73 will fit.
