DT2 aftermarket kill switch wiring

DT2 aftermarket kill switch wiring was created by lukeh

My DT2 is missing the ignition switch, so while I am working through the resto I will use a simple kill switch.
I want to confirm that the appropriate way to wire it is to run the black stator-to-coil wire to ground, not to put a switch inline in the black wire?

So the stator will still be a closed circuit to the coil; but when switched will ALSO have a closed circuit to ground. Is that correct?

Yes, you are correct. Connecting the black wire from the stator to the spark coil to ground through the kill switch IMHO is the correct way. Also, I think it would be better to find a key/ignition switch for your DT2.
