Not sure but is that a fixed non adj plate on dt 100?   You can also use gap to an extent of gap range to set timing.

thanks for responding. Yes its a fixed plate non adjustable.  The only thing adjustable is the mini plate where the gap is, can use a flat head. i should of left it as it was but i replaced the points and condenser and now it dont run or start. i cant follow the timing steps because its unclear in the book drives me nuts. i seen videos of people using little light bulbs to show when the gap opens or closes and also feeler gauge, i just can get the btdc location and mark.  i get tdc easily but dont know where to go from there. its too sensitive and difficult to get it exactly timed for me. if i cant time it , im now looking at replacing the entire system to cdi but am on a budget. i seen couple of cdi systems for under $180 but not sure if it work like intended or if i need to change the actual magnet too.  i have made several stators for suzuki long ago but that was before pickups, i just did the windings and epoxies/install.  what are your thoughts?  i also found a complete package off of some tao or lifan enduro cdi system that all the parts look like they fit but have not tried it. it sparks right now. just cant get it to do it at the right time.

just noticed i maybe should of posted this under the 74-75 twin shock bikes instead of the 72-73 twin shock bikes

** suggest you check where the condenser wire is connected before moving forward.
