AT2M Starting Issues was created by PFC

I am trying to get my AT2M to run again (it did previously - but not well)

I am looking for some troubleshooting tips in case I have missed something on my own.

what I have done:
plugs are new NGK and have spark and correct gap (data found here on this site) I have been working with the same 2 plugs for a while now - maybe I need try some new plugs ?????

main coil primary and secondary are in spec (data found here on this site)

I have not checked the source coil - but I am assuming it is OK since there is voltage to the main coil primary and the secondary is producing voltage for spark - I don't know what the source coil electrical rating is ?

plug wire and plug cap (new) in spec - this is a NGK cap with resistor - appears to be 5K

fuel is new high test with 32-1 pre mix

carburetor is new and is jetted just as the factory with exception to the jet needle - but i do have the correct size if needed.
crank seals replaced.

I believe timing is set as well as points; but while doing this there seems to be some crank bearing slop so i am sure this will affect the spark plug gap - which in affect I assume will cause a poor tune, but will it cause no run?

The cylinder is 1st over with new piston - rings - bearing - pin and clips so I am assuming the compression is OK - but I have not been able to read it - I will this week.

The bike will fire - typically it will fire after I clear the lower end and cylinder from being loaded up - the plugs are wet so i know it is getting fuel.

The bike has run - poorly for maybe a minute or 2 on several occasions but not recently.

I hope I am missing something stupid - maybe i should replace the points and condenser????

thanks for your comments!

My first thought is leaky petcock floods the engine while parked?

yes brand new - got it from Niche Cycles in the Tampa Bay area!
it is out of the box same jetting as the OEM with exception to the jet needle which I purchased the OEM size so I should be OEM set up

I have not opened the new carb up assuming it is set from the factory - but i bet someone is going to tell me to check it ;0)

Any chance of a video of it running for as long as possible. Video solves all--well, on a good day.

My guess is still that it's just flooded.

If you bought the Mikuni from Niche Cycle you should be good as far as being a genuine Mikuni as they are a reputable dealer, but why do you think it is jetted properly for your AT2M? Mikuni carburetors are sold based on size & not specific application, the jetting specifications vary widely between an enduro and a mx bike. Case in point I recently bought a 38mm Mikuni from Niche Cycle and the stock main is a 340 and I think it came from Niche Cycle with a 220, the pilot calls for a 60 stock and I think it came with a 35 from Niche Cycle. I had the same experiences on jet sizes on a Mikuni I bought for a DT250 as well, the jets were only like $4-5 dollars each and I bought them at the same time I bought the carburetor. Maybe Niche Cycle will custom jet them before shipping? I have heard Sudco another reputable Mikuni dealer will custom jet them and perform other modifications prior to shipping?
