It's a tapered crank just like all the other models...  I wouldn't say "press"....  "seat" is a better term.

I'm 99.9% certain that there is no locating key.  So you will need to index it when reinstalling so timing adjustment is in range.  Which I mentioned before and would have been a lot easier in my opinion than re-drilling the stator.  So keep that in mind when reinstalling.

And I agree, repositioning the rotor would have definitely been easier. Either I didn't understand originally or I didn't know how to take the rotor off and I wanted to DO IT NOW! haha. You know how that goes.

I went out to the shop this morning and started making a puller but after a few minutes in the 95% humidity of Pennsylvania's July weather I couldn't stand it anymore, came inside, and ordered the puller online. ha.
