I would also like to thank Gr8uncleal for his suggestion of the kawi blanking plate. I received and installed it this afternoon.

Or, alternatively, Asahi Denso spares on an Asahi Denso piece of equipment!

Glad they worked out for you and thanks for taking a punt on the indicator knob. Did you fit the whole lever or just the knob? I've got various left switches that I'm trying to complete, tidy up etc and two of them have indicator parts missing.

I just replaced the knob, not the entire lever. It fit on it perfectly.

Did you end up finding the switch it on ebay or thru a dealer?

If I may, I'd like to correct/fine tune the Kawasaki part needed if you're going to use the whole lever, not just the knob.

It looks to me like the part for the AT/CT/DT/RT indicator switch/lever is 46044-006. This is for casings with YHA205 stamped on the underside.

For casings with YHA206 stamped on the underside, I think that the Kawasaki part number is 46044-007, although looking at the photos of both on CMSNL and fleabay, I can't see any difference between it and 46044-010 - I guess measurements will be needed.

The black toggles all look the same, although the underside of some are stamped 1, some 2 and some 4 (as are my Yamaha ones).

Time for an update and also appropriate to incorporate roddiee's thread of quite a while ago.

kawasaki /yamaha parts the same - Vintage Enduro Discussions (yamaha-enduros.com)

As per the attached thread, Kawasaki part number 46089-003 is the same part as used on Yamaha switchgear with YHA205 cast into the underside. ALSO, Kawasaki part number 46044-011 (the thumb knob/toggle) is the same as the Yamaha part.

Photos of my Yamaha parts alongside the Kawasaki ones are attached.

The one on the bottom looks different....  tab is shorter and there's no hole?

Scanning your reply quickly, Mark, I almost fell for that!

The Kawasaki part is dark grey, and that is the only difference.

I just need to double check the Kawasaki parts list for the small screw that holds the two pieces together. When I first looked, I'm pretty sure that it was a threaded type, whereas the Yamaha uses what we over here call a "self tapper". However, there is nothing in the toggle for a standard threaded screw to grab hold of.

Edit - Yes, screws definitely a little different (maybe just a finer self tapping thread on the Kawa?). Kawa part number that I was looking at is 221B0308A. As it happens, I had a spare one in my Yamaha box of bits and that works fine.
