Clutch time. When I opened up the clutch and pulled off the pressure plate there was a solid washer ( does not look like an original) benind the lock washer. This prevented the nut from sinking correcly against the lock washer and the lock washer was not all of the way inserted  in the grooves. Looking at the parts diagram it does not show this washer. I am thinking the original owner tried to make up play this way? Has anybody heard of this before ?
