Does anyone know if this Honda Red lens will fit a Yamaha?  (They certainly appear to be the same).    I am struggling to find a red lens

Surprised that you're struggling to find any in the US, particularly used ones. Don't forget that they were fitted to over 60 models (check Partzilla or CMSNL for the full list), so don't limit your search to the CT.

There are loads here in the UK as, by and large, we replace them with amber ones.

Amber is easy to get here also......the red is what I was hoping for.

If you ever want to convert your amber yellow lens to a red lense it is easily done by painting the INSIDE of the amber lense with a very light coat of Testers Translucent Red model paint in a small spray can available at any hobby store. Do it on a scrap amber/yellow lense and you won't believe how it transforms itself into a red lense, and since the paint is on the inside surface it holds up very well.
