Gasket Sealants was created by brandenj09

I'm looking over the gasket mating surfaces and there are some minor scratches where the base gasket would meet up with the cylinder on the engine base. Is using rtv red plus base gasket the best way to go to make sure there aren't any leaks? I'm also using a really old fiber gasket kit, so I'm not sure if there's a better gasket kit (maybe a different material) to prevent leaks.

I would not use RTV red anywhere near fuel which means not on the base gasket.

Use Permatex Motoseal or the equivalent Yamabond
