Left turn Ch = Chocolate, often just referred to as Dark Brown.

You guys are very skilled. Above is the correction for that diagram.
If you have a C model, might be better to start with that diagram... there are slight differences like a voltage regulator.
There is a DT400C OWNERS manual in the Tech library. Diagram is in the back. Wires are labeled with color legends.
If you're talking about the stator coils, the four main coils are wrapped around two common cores... coils are drawn next to each other in diagram to clearly show how the wires interconnect but there are only two cores.
P.S. Ch = Dark Brown

Got the 1975 400B manuals and thanks
Should have gotten these first as they are fantastic
I take it for my 1976 400C there are minimal changes and I can just go by this manual since I did not see one for my year (other than a V regulator)
I think I still have a rectifier?
Thanks for the coil clarification

Again, there is an OWNERS MANUAL in the tech library that has the correct diagram for you bike.
Here's a link that hopefully works. yamaha-enduros.com/index.php/ownders-man...t400c-owner-s-manual
And yes you have a rectifier.
