DT3 Trans. Drain Plug Gasket was created by Super90

Hi All, I changed the countershaft seal (used OEM) on my DT3 this week, also replaced my worn out rear shocks with some Aftermarket ones. When I drained the oil it appeared that there was a small leak at the drain plug. When I bought the bike it had a copper washer beneath the drain plug. I reused it when I changed the trans. oil 500 miles ago. I searched one of the OEM part sites (they are available online) and they show a Gasket instead of copper washer. Since I am putting new oil in I want NO leaks. Do you guys use the gaskets inplace of copper or steel crush washers? Man I hate leaks. What is your experience. Thanks and Happy Easter. Tim in Florida

I bought some genuine Yamaha ones that look a little like asbestos, although obviously they are not!

Take the plug to an auto parts store, they probably have a fiber one...  they also have those fancy new aluminum (or aluminium for our GB friends) washers with an o-ring kind of built in.  Those seal great.
