1972 DT-2 correct tank color was created by z34m40
Does anyone know the correct color code or what I need to know to bring it to a paint shop to have painted ? It's the color that looks orange but some have said the correct color name is Pearl Yellow.
Thank you

Check this site out.
This info is in a pdf in the Tech Library somewhere, but not in alphabetical order.
Whilst the colour of the DT2 is commonly referred to as Pearl Yellow, it LOOKS like it MIGHT actually be Pearl Yellow Gold, which sort of makes sense when you look at the original, unfaded paintwork. I'd like others to confirm this first, though!
If it is Pearl Yellow Gold, then the Colour Code is 11 and the abbreviation is PYG. I am from the UK, and so have spelt colour the correct way!!

Thanks for confirming Swoop - I've not seen a reference to the "Gold" element before.

I can't find a paint company that can match Yamaha 1972 DT2 Pearl Yellow Gold, code PYG, number 11. My painter is a vintage car restorer and they haven't had any luck through their paint suppliers. Does anyone have a paint formula specific to a paint manufacturer that replicates this color? Would really appreciate hearing from you.
Many thanks.
Many thanks.

Sorry to confuse but here's a screenshot off a video of my DT2 new in "72 but i'm in NZ.
Sort of a candy orange i guess. Pic is just after i dropped it on a corner & picked it up still running but with my arms crossed haha. Not a very clear pic trying to stop it a clear as i could.
