Neutral light was created by Geiger

Hey, I'm on to the wiring bit of my RT1B. I have two wiring diagrammes, which are both useful but seem a bit generic for RT/DT bikes. Anyway, RT1B from 70/71, were does the neutral light wire exit the engine? Or does it work by witchcraft?

Dave

If your tacho has a neutral light, then it's the wrong tacho. Maybe post a photo so that we can id it.

My RT2 came with the wrong tacho and it took me a while to suss this out.

You bought that decomp cover, then?!

Firstly, I did wonder if the neutral light was obsolete on this model, but as I said, the wiring diags I have both show a neutral light, but are generic. And secondly, I did buy the decompression cover. It cost me about £20 + £17 p & p, but needs must. I'm still going to try the pipe end cover just for fun. If it works it may help someone else out of a fix.

Wiring diagrams are available in the manuals in the Tech Library here if you want a less generic version.

I'll give it a look. I've just got the engine to fire on Easystart for a few seconds. I don't think I can post photos on here. If I can I don't know how.

That does look like a green lens with "N" underneath it. 8500 rpm red line - I wonder if it is the correct tacho for the RT1? I'll have to leave that to the real experts!
