DT1E started on 2nd kick but I have a long punch list!

one issue is that bike runs on choke, dies from starvation when it's flipped off.

supply to carb robust so this plus a full float bowl eliminates supply.

took apart thinking I need to blow things out again, despite already making things really clean and found this little bit in bowl.  It's brass, cylindrical, no threads or screw head so maybe a passage plug? Measures 0.165" in length and 0.082" in diameter on one end and 0.065 in diameter on other end. Any ideas where is came from, what it does, where it goes massively appreciated!

Looks like the locating pin from the carb body that keeps the slide properly oriented.
The hours spent riding my Enduros is not deducted from my life span.

Yes it could be the slide locating pin, but how would it ever end up in the float bowl?

If it runs with the choke on, but dies when you push the choke in (off), that indicates a lean condition. Need more gas to run equals larger pilot. Or another cleaning of the pilot and the idle circuits.

Here is one of mine. Looks like a brass pin is pressed in.
