With 7 years of experience fixing vintage motorcycles for the public “customers” are invariably in No Mans Land generally speaking. They pay exorbitant amounts of money because they don’t live and breathe vintage Yamaha.

best of luck to all for 2025

I see one of the key comments in regards to keeping up maintainence. So, are the new ones maintainence free?
I’m thoroughly confused here.. (:

Newer bikes may not be maintenance free, but I gotta say my 2017 SCR950 is pretty dang close. The belt drive plays a big role in it. It’s my first and only belt drive bike. My Virago was shaft drive, but I’m really liking this belt drive. But you always have oil/filter changes and cleaning air filters.

Agree about belt drive for street bikes. Less maintenance than a chain and lighter than a shaft. I had a number of belt drive bikes, put 25k miles on my HD and it was in great shape when I sold it. Wish my Tiger had a belt.
