69 CT1 No Power was created by Bikingbagga
I rebuilt the ignition switch tested it off the bike per the manua;(off the bike) zero ohms in both the day and night posistion
I have power from a new battery to the red wire at the switch when I turn the switch to on at thr day or night posistion the obrown wire is the only point I have power.
Rear stop light is working I get a very lite spark when I ground the spark plug
Frustrating everyhing looks right obvously missing something,
Hopefully the brain trust can hekp me out
Note! I had Ricks Electrics completlry rebuild the stator new everything including new points and condenser

Brown is the only wire that should have battery power with key on. The only thing it powers on a 69 is the horn, neutral, and brake light.
Engine needs to be running for all other lights (head, tail, instrument illumination) on an original 1969 (No turn signals in 69)

Later models were different as the taillight also ran off the battery.

Oh, and ignition has nothing to do with the battery. Black/white grounds with key off to kill spark.

Progress I think
Stop light working whether you activate it from handlebar switch or foot switch
Neutral light working
No horn need to work on that one
Getting spark when I ground the plug not super strong but I can see it
I will try and start the bike tomorrow

If it's the original left hand switch made of "sheet metal" they are rare and fragile. Quite expensive when you see one for sale. Many have been replaced with the later "cast aluminum" type. Button is horn and lever is hi-lo beam.

I have a cast aluminum that raps around the handlebar and a button / lever that attachs to that
So i'm restoring my first 69 CT! California orange as a surprise gift to my daughter then up next a 69 AT1E in white that is a surprise gift to my grand daughter then I have another 70 CT1B in Candy Green to follow that. I just like the styling of these early enduros after restoring many Suzuki T500s and a GT380 and my Sunday rider is my restored 74 GT750. I'm not a stranger to restorations I also still have a KX500 and 72 Kawasaki H2 that is in line.
After all that I have a question I know my 69 CT1 is 6 volt so what year and bikes did they chage to a 12V
