Things are going great !

We fabricated a special cone to match your 8000 rpm porting....

We also ended up making a small internal stinger to make things just right !

bummer....forgot my camera :S

Because of the internal stinger
you'll be able to run this pipe (SP49) ...with or without a silencer if you like... :OnFire

This Sleeper Pipe SP49 should be a great match for your MX400 top-end

Heck it may pull better down below than the stock pipe and pull harder at the top than your Hooker pipe ? :OnFire

We will be ready to ship it back on Tuesday....

Sorry it took so long to post the sleeper pipe install but I waited to get a FMF silencer. I lost the one I had but now I have a replacement.

first run with no silencer installed.

this is the second run with a stock DT400 silencer installed.

and the run I made today. the low end power has been increased and I get it down from 1500 at the start. I could not had done this with the Hooker pipe installed. it pulls cleanly from 1500 rpm to 8000 rpm. it has a less potent top end rush but in other areas it is a bit stronger. I will test the other stock DT400 after I freshen up the engine on that one.

at one point in this video on the 4th power pull to 8000 and put it in 5th gear, I took it to 85 mph before letting off. this bike I am convinced would run 90+ mph. it is geared a little lower than stock with a 13 tooth countershaft sprocket. with all stock gearing it should do the ton with little trouble.

Bigdog.....your Super DT400 looks to be running real good. After watching all 3 videos it appears your bike runs the strongest with the FM silencer then followed byhe DT400 silencer ? Not 100% sure ? I think we did ok with your Super Sleeper pipe...as I mentioned to you ....more performance would require altering the pipe externally.
I know the power is down from the Hooker.....but overall performance of your Super Sleeper Pipe seems pretty good?
Are you happy with it ?

yes, I am very happy with the Sleeper pipe. It has more bottom end power for sure and it does a better job putting the power down. thanks for your work on this pipe! the bike is more tractable to ride in tight trails.

I am planning to do the Sleeper pipe treatment with both the 1971 RT1B and maybe have you do a little porting and the 1978 DT175E pipe as well. :OnFire

Many of our members have historically used Photobucket which decided to charge folks $300-400/ year to be able to embed their photos in forums. We, along with a good chunk of the Internet, have lost many embedded photos because of this.

We allow folks to load their photos directly to the site to hopefully avoid this in the future. Many of our old threads suffer from this. You will run into the same problem on many other forums, such as ADVRider, thumpertalk, etc.
IF it isn't one thing, it's another.
