These links will take you to the ebayers I got the parts from to build the relief valve:

The company I bought the adapter from on eBay was Speedoutfitters. Here's a link to the one I bought:

The company I bought the valve from on eBay was deepozarks. Here's a link to the 2 pack I bought. The do sell them individually as well.

Good Luck. YAMABOB

Not really sure what you're asking. It relieves some of the compression in the combustion chamber when you kick it over, then reseats itself when if fires.

~

Thanks for providing the details. :OnFire

Did the RT1M come with the stock - Decompression Valve setup.

Did you use this as your 'only ' Decompression Valve or along - with
the Stock (handlebar valve) setup?

Thanks again,

Did not come with any kind of compression release. This set up was just an add on I came up with to use.

the 1970 RT1M and 1971 RT1MX did not come with a compression release from the factory. of course I have a 1970 RT1M but I have also a 1971 RT1MX engine. the place on the cylinder for the compression release is blanked off and is not drilled and tapped for the factory one to be installed.

It's a super tidy unit. I was just wondering how it resets itself . I asked the seller the same question on eBay and the response was "push and pull manually " .
Just wondering how a contraption designed to release pressure also closes with pressure ..
When in doubt, power out !

The high pressure of combustion acting on the valve head does the "pull manually" job to close the valve for you if that makes any sense.

That's why Bob said you have to keep checking (and possibly re-pushing) the button after a failed kick start attempt.
