I'm not aware of any reverse threads used on the 69-81 Yamaha Enduro engines.

Also for removal is quite simple with an air impact tool…like what you use to remove lug nuts and things. They spin right off without all the fuss. Re-assembly is always by hand using a torque wrench.

For the go-back…I’ve found torque specs by looking through various years of Yamaha service manuals. It has also been discussed here numerous times. I can tell you that I use 50 ft lbs on the primary gear, clutch hub and output shaft sprocket nut. For the flywheel that depends on what you are working on. The 68 DT1 has such few threads and regular nut whereas 70s bikes have more threads and nut is about 50% thicker to grab more threads. I’ve never had a problem with 45-50 ft lbs on those later bikes. No Way I’d try that on the 68. I won’t be getting into my 68 motor until this summer.
Good luck!
Oh yeah…my torque numbers are for great threads. If questionable threads don’t use my numbers.
