If the adjuster surfaces of the arm are flat & parralel could you put a steel ruler on each side & measure through the spokes crossways. Two person job. Just trying to visualise it in my mind.

I pulled the rear wheel off my DT2 last night, I'm cleaning things up and replacing the tires and brake shoes. Anyways, I took pictures of how in came apart. I'm not doing the wheel bearings, so that'll be different than you. Perhaps these pictures will help. Oh, and I don't see the flat washer that I have under your castle nut.

Thanks!!! This is a great confirmation. You are correct, I do not have the washer under the nut. I did not see it in the diagram, but I also see the diagrams have issues in some cases. Boy... I wish my parts looked that good. Perhaps in time. I am planning on doing a light restoration once I get this going and have a chance to enjoy it for a while, then I will dismantle it, do some re-plating, painting, replace fenders and the like.

@ RT325, I was hoping it could be done that way, but I think the brake hub is still to big to allow that.
@Brzn, if you could, could you please, please measure the distance you have between the rear fork while you have your wheel off? Either inside to inside or outside to outside, either will work. Thanks!!

I rigged up my framing squares with a couple of clamps to act as a caliper to measure the out to out measure of the swing arm. It seem to be practically the same size as yours Brzn, perhaps 1/16"-- 2mm bigger if I see it right. So this makes me curious about another point. On yours, when it is reassembled, will there be a gap present someplace or places before the nut is tightened???
When I assembled mine I was thoroughly expecting the space being filled before tightening. Then when I did tighten everything up that's when the red flag popped up, the cotter pin hole not being where I was expecting. Even If I added a washer like yours, I think the cotter pin hole would still miss the nut.
