1971 DT-1 MX autolube was created by lolipop50

Today I got around to firing up the 250MX. Used pre-mix fuel so I knew it would be oiling while I checked to see if oil was arriving from the autolube pump to the intake. Yes there was oil arriving there but I wonder how much I should be seeing?? ( I just removed the banjo fitting at the intake to observe while the bike was running.) Still a considerable amount of good 'ol exhaust smoke also.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Without changing Main Jet Size ADDING PREMIX makes the bike run Lean. Beware of Lean Running 2 Strokes.

Thanks for that info on the main jets; will double check the auto-lube pump before taking it out for a ride, and then, if it's working correctly I'll rely on it for lubrication. Just an fyi: I have been using 95 octane racing fuel for all my small engines (chainsaws, weed-eaters, etc.) which I plan on using in the bike. This fuel supposedly has no added ethanols or other ingredients which degrade the fuel over time if not used right away.My other "baby" is a 1964 F-100 with the stock Y-block V8 so all this 2 cycle stuff is kind of foreign to me, I have rebuilt my truck engine and otherwise restored my truck to a good usable condition but when I look at some of the procedures for the Yamaha engine in my "Clymers" shop manual it seems to be more complex than an old school V8.Cheers

Hey Lolipop50 does your truck have the 292 or 312 y block. These old Yamaha’s are pretty simple once you get the hang of it.

I removed the auto line on my 68 onetime to see the feed rate. It isn't much. Good info on the main jet. Maybe that is why I stuck the new piston on my 69. Got to love those old Fords. I have two 65's one is a camper special, not as nice as yours. . Stan.
