Oil in exhaust pipe was created by adguy2112

Merry Christmas everyone. Taking the time off to do more cleanup on my CT2.  Still haven’t removed the head to check piston for issues but wondering if excessive 2stroke oil in the bottom end would create a no start issue. When I removed the exhaust pipe for rust mitigation about a cup of 2-strike oil came out the end, figured the oil tank check valve couldn’t defy gravity as the bike sat for many years and the oil likely filled the lower end. I would be interested to know if anyone has a tricks for clearing it out beyond pulling a side seal and drooping the bike in its side.

Just plug out & exhaust off then push it around for a bit & it'll be good enough to start. If ya really concerned you could poke a syringe line or something in through the piston window on the inlet side & suck it out. There isn't a check valve at the tank but has a super light spring & tiny ball at the union on the pump outlet up to the cylinder which gets fluff & stuff caught in it & common to let oil by over a long period parked up. No 9 & 8 below in the link. Also if you kick it over hard like ya trying to start it & with a belly full of oil you're likely to push the crank seal out & chances are it'll be the right side being the most annoying to get at. You'll be good if you've not been kicking it relentlessly before finding oil in the header pipe.

Ok RT, that seemed to work. I draped a shop towel over the head and exhaust manifold in case it splattered oil everywhere. Nothing was on the towel so not sure if this was the fix or baking the exhaust for a hour on the bbq. Either way it runs good. Idles perfectly. Thanks so much for the tips,
