I have a RT-1 yamaha, ser# RT1111798 Built 11/71 and title has it as a 1972 is this correct?
Also does anyone know if there is a repair kit for the fuel petcook valve to replace the rubber components? if so what is the part# and the company

Almost correct... You have a 1972 RT2... different beast than an RT1 in a few ways. (The confusing part is the RT1, RT2, and RT2 all had an "RT1" prefix VIN. VIN charts are in the Tech Library here)
RT2 had a reed valve intake and "flip cap" on the gas tank as a couple of the easy differences to spot. Make sure you're looking for RT2 parts.
And Yamaha should have the petcock parts still or there is a thread on here about brand new Yamaha petcocks that will fit and work great for less that the rebuild parts... but the new ones look different so if you want to keep it original, rebuilding is the best route.
